The musician is protagonist: this is the motto of the FIM – International Trade Fair of Music- the second edition of which will be held on May 16th to 18th at the Fiera del Mare in Genova.
The opening of the exibition, on May 16th will be dedicated to Jimi Hendrix. In this occasion Eddie Kramer, famous producer and sound engineer, will tell anecdotes dating back to the period when he worked with Hendrix in recording of his albums. Kramer will also receive a prize within Fim Awards 2014 together with Bobby Kimball, lead singer of Toto, and Colin Norfield, the man behind the concerts of Pink Floyd and the last tour of Sugar.
This year’s edition will be full of artists, events, seminars, concerts, and meetings, all linked by a common thread: music. There will be spaces dedicated not only to artists, but also to musical instrument manufacturers and retailers of CDs and vinyl records, to record labels, to those involved in organizing concerts and performances and to academies and schools. Among the novelties there are two new areas: the first is dedicated to the world of console and not restricted only to DJs and aspiring, but also to retailers of specialized equipment and discos; the second is dedicated to the world of dance, where amateurs and professionals can enter into contact with schools, associations, groups and producers.
There will also be another novelty: a space entirely dedicated to insiders. In the area ‘Meet The Music’ record companies, producers, distributors and press offices will meet to exchange ideas and opinions and at the same time discover new talents. To participate (and all other information about the program and schedule of events), you need to go to the site www.fimfiera.it and register.
