Rapallo, the calendar of the Festivities of July

One of the most important events of the year for Rapallo, both for tourism and for the tradition: that is the Festivities of July, on the occasion of the celebrations of Our Lady of Montallegro, the patron saint of the city.

 

This year marks the 456th anniversary of the apparition of Our Lady to the farmer Chichizola. A year later (in 1558) began the construction of the Sanctuary on the hill of the city.

From 23th June to 1st July Novena of the Dawn to the Sanctuary, 5:00 am

 

July 1

8:00 am Greetings to Our Lady by the districts with the ignition of the ancient Ligurian firecrackers. Followed by fireworks by the districts S. Michael and Cerisola.

10:15 pm Greetings to Our Lady by the districts with the ignition of the ancient Ligurian firecrackers.

10:30 pm Palio of the districts: fireworks by the districts S. Michael and Cerisola.

 

July 2

12:00 pm Fireworks of the panegyric, followed by the fireworks by the district Seglio.

10:45 pm Greetings to Our Lady by the districts with the ignition of the ancient Liguran firecrackers.

11:00 pm Palio of the districts: fireworks by the districts Borzoli and Costaguta.

 

July 3

10:00 pm Greetings to Our Lady by the districts. Ignition of the ancient Ligurian firecrackers to the passage of the Silver Ark on the waterfront.

10:15 pm The fireworks of the boys. Followed by fireworks and the traditional ‘fire of the Castle’ by the district Borzoli.

11:15 pm Greetings to Our Lady by the districts and ignition of the ancient Ligurian firecrackers.

11:30 pm Palio by the districts: fireworks by the districts Seglio and Cappelletta.
